One Heat Minute Podcast: on the 74th Minute of Michael Mann's "Heat"

Blake Howard is an Australian critic who's in the midst of something extremely ambitious (and kind of insane). His podcast One Heat Minute examines Michael Mann's Heat (1995) one minute at a time, and, unlike a lot of fandom podcasts, it works.

Blake has managed to get a hold of some great guests, including Manohla Dargis, Ian Barr, Anna Dzenis, Phillippa Hawker, and even Pasquale Buba, one of Heat's editors. And Blake has an increasingly diverse roll call of interesting guests booked for future episodes.

Here, Blake and I go over the 74th minute, talking Ligeti, intertextuality, technology, and acting styles. We could have gone on for another few hours.
